I live in New York City in a neighborhood where many Dominicans live and have businesses. On a daily basis, I have friendly encounters with folks from there and wonder what their country is like. Finally, we had six days free in December of 2018 and decided to go. Though we knew it was going to be tropical, we discovered a rich and vibrant culture.
